Training and Consulting Accomplishments:

Development of recruiting and retention program for a national service business employing over 2000 employees. Program was all encompassing, including: applications, interview procedures, new employee orientation program, on-going training and employee development programs, resulting in a reduction in annual turnover from over 400% to less than 100%.

Successful development, documentation, implementation and maintenance of several organizations in ISO 9000 International Quality System Standards. Each organization registered was a first for their industry sector, resulting in groundbreaking interpretation of ISO 9000 standards and audit processes.

Successful program management and ensured compliance to United States DOT legislation on behalf of the State of Florida.

Development and implementation of recruiting and safety compliance tools and documents that have become industry standard tools and are in place today at Canada’s leading trucking companies.

This resulted in a WSIB NEER rebate of $263K for the first year of the new program and a budgeted cost reduction of over $1 million by year 3.

Successfully managed several Teamster grievances, an arbitration hearing, and advised on the negotiation of a new Collective Agreement, resulting in a reduction in hourly wages to a level consistent with market conditions and the ability of management to sub-contract work.

Developed a Corporate University through the development of strategic alliances with community colleges and universities.

Development of communication plans for both a national and an international business, both of which employ staff on a permanent and contract basis in multiple locations, resulting in a measurable improvement in teamwork, loyalty and commitment.

Led a service business through significant organizational and leadership change. Within a 12-month period of the implementation of new structures, reporting methods, policies and procedures including a head office move to a new region, revenue increased by 23% and profit by 51%.

Through the development of retention strategies for several businesses that employ people in "high turnover" occupations such as IT professionals and truck drivers, a significant reduction in turnover (taking into consideration seasonality) was realized within the first 6 months.
